About

T oby Scales is often referred to as the Niels Bohr of the written word. He’s still not sure what that means, so he’s taking it as a compliment for now.

He recently settled in New York, after spending eleven years in Seattle. During his time there he set up keynote presentations for Bill Gates, built two dot-com server infrastructures from the ground up, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Cinema Studies. After graduation he built a private consulting business, which he sold in 2008 to pursue his passion for writing more fully.

When he’s not writing, you can find him rock climbing, catching the latest arthouse flick, or pontificating in a bar somewhere on subjects he knows nothing about. Some of these subjects include economics, evolution, and philosophy. One thing he’s really not good at is writing poetry. Trust me on that one.
